Nelson Puentes
Building on Shopify since 2012. Now building the AI agents that run ThinkSocial's client work.
Building and developing on Shopify.
Running ecommerce businesses.
Active products in his own Shopify catalog.
AI made ads in seven weeks, from a pipeline he built.
An engineer who never stopped building.
Nelson studied engineering and physics, then left to start businesses. He is a lifelong Linux user who builds his own computers and has written websites and apps since long before AI wrote code.
In 2012 he launched Inverted Gear on Shopify and has developed on the platform ever since: themes, custom apps, APIs and integrations. Today he directs AI agents the same way he writes software, with tests, logs and a person approving every change.
Shopify
Themes, custom apps, Admin API and multi store integrations.
AI agents
Inbox, ad creative, store search and inventory agents.
Operations software
His own warehouse management system for several Shopify stores.
Ads and data
Ads launched from code, server side tracking and live store dashboards.
Inverted Gear, since 2012.
Nelson founded Inverted Gear as fair priced, year round jiu jitsu gear. It grew into a full Shopify catalog with a loyal community, the Panda Nation, and its own warehouse.
Every agent ThinkSocial offers runs there first. Results from Inverted Gear are labeled as his, never as a client's.
- Wrote a WMS that pulls orders from several Shopify stores, buys labels and pushes tracking back
- Built an AI ad pipeline that made 519 finished ads in seven weeks
- Tested natural language store search on his live catalog
- Runs daily store stats and an operating dashboard he built
- Co founded Inverted Gear Academy in Allentown, with its own booking and lead system
Read only first. Then one careful write.
His agents start by reading. Nothing reaches a client's store, ads or inbox without a named person's yes, and the live inbox agent cannot send at all.
- Inbox Agent, live with a client
- Brand Growth Agents, running on his brand
- Store Search, proven in simulation
- AEO, answer engine optimization
- Inventory Intake, in design
- Multi store WMS, running on Inverted Gear
